Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Newport

The Priory Hotel & Restaurant - Caerleon

High St, Caerleon, Newport NP18 1AG, UK – 01633 421241

A very trendy up market pub. Average selection of ales, spirits, soft drinks a little on the expensive side. The selection of meals is the clincher. Choose individual meals or from the fixed menu. The price is average for this type of service £17.95 for a fixed two course meal. The amount of choice for one of meals is very good. A counter from which you choose your dish ( seafood, meat, and have it cooked to your taste..). A nice place to go for a occasion, Not every week. Book in advance for a table and seating time.

Fantastic food with a novel and quite refreshing method of choosing what to eat. Had Oysters and then Skate and was very pleased with it. The evening we went we entertained 10 people in a professional setting. The venue was ideal, I would return for both professional or a relaxed evening.

The Snug Restaurant & Cafe

High St, Caerleon, Newport NP18 1AG, UK – 01633 430238

Visits to the Snug are always a welcome change from the hum drum of the week as myself and friends stop off for coffee on a regular cycle ride ...great staff.. great service

Amazing hidden jem....food outstanding friendly staff ....lovely ambiance.

Marenghi's Restaurant and Coffee Shop

434 Chepstow Rd, Newport NP19 8JG, UK – 07738 406335

Having heard great things of this place, my wife and I booked in for last Friday evening with 2 friends. We were not disappointed. The owner Mario and his son looked after us royally. Superb food and service so much so that my wife and I returned for lunch 4 days later (again outstanding). You need to book in advance for evenings and there is no payment by plastic. This is a little gem!

Lovely guy running this place, was happy to nip next door and grab some soya milk to make my coffee. Also had gluten free panini but doesn't advertise gluten free items on menu so not sure whether it's always possible to get this.
